blogger… we need to talk.

​i love my little blog. i love decorating it, posting, reading everyone else’s posts and seeing this little blogging community grow.

BUT blogger is stressing me out with the following situation lol.

why is it so hard to find the blogs of the people who follow you?! someone will follow me and i’m like yayyy, let me go follow them back… meanwhile i have absolutely no idea how to get to their blog.

blogger, please. there are way too many people getting back into blogging for this to still be this difficult. i need a cute little followers list where i can click your name, see your blog and follow you right back. that’s it!!

i actually like having too many hobbies.

i feel like every other day i find something new i want to get into lol.

i read. i build legos. i play my switch and ps5. i blog. i travel. i find random little places to explore. and somehow i’m always looking for another hobby to add to the list.

but honestly? i love that about myself.

adult life can get so repetitive. you work, handle your responsibilities, come home, sleep, and do it all over again. having hobbies gives me little things to look forward to that have absolutely nothing to do with being productive.

i don’t need to be good at everything. i don’t need to make money from it. sometimes i just want to do something because it makes me happy.

and i think more adults need that.

so yes, i’ll probably keep collecting hobbies like they’re infinity stones lol.

life is too short to only have responsibilities.

my child life internship journey: the beginning

wait... what's child life?

if you've never heard of a child life specialist, we're basically there to help children and families cope with being in the hospital. we use things like play, preparation, education, and emotional support to make medical experiences a little less scary and overwhelming.

it's actually happening.

in a couple of weeks, i'll officially be starting my child life internship, and i don't think it's fully hit me yet.

i'm excited, nervous, anxious... basically feeling everything at once lol. i've spent so much time working toward this part of my journey, and now that it's finally here, there's definitely a little voice in my head wondering, am i ready for this?

but i think that's part of starting something new.

i'm excited to learn, meet new people, challenge myself, and finally experience what it's like to step into the child life role in a completely different way. i know there are going to be days when i feel confident and days when i probably question everything i'm doing, but i want to give myself permission to be a student. i'm not supposed to know everything yet. that's literally why i'm there.

i decided i want to document this journey here too. probably little weekly updates about what i'm learning, how i'm feeling, the challenges, the wins, and how i'm growing throughout the experience ' while of course keeping anything involving patients completely private.

i think it'll be really cool to come back to this first post when it's all over and see how much has changed.

right now though?

next on my lego wall: pink roses ✦

new addition <3

if there's 1 thing about me, im going to build me some legos lol. my lego wall is slowly becoming one of my fav parts of my space. and this is the next build to go up on the wall. 

my bff brought me the pink rose bouquet as a gift for landing my child life internship and i originally planned on building it exactly how it comes... but then i saw someone mix different colored roses into theirs and now i'm conflicted lol.

do i keep her completely pink like the original? or do i buy another rose set and mix the colors together to make my own bouquet?

i haven't even opened the box yet because apparently i need to make decorating decisions before i can build anything LOL! either way, she's getting built. i just need to figure out what version of her is making it onto the wall.

reading on the lawn

 i spent my sunday at reading on the lawn at brooklyn bridge park, hosted by reading rhythms - a reading community that brings ppl together through shared reading events (some are free and some cost) and honestly, it was the perfect way to end my weekend.

the event was basically a few hours of reading in the park with other readers. throughout the day, we would read for about 30 minutes, stop and talk to someone about what we were reading, go back to our books, and eventually break into groups to talk about books and get to know each other.

now... if you know me, you know i will go somewhere by myself with NO problem lol. but actually socializing once i get there? that's another story. i'm the type of person who will talk to you all day if you approach me first, but me walking up to somebody? girl. LOL so i was a little nervous about that part.

but it really wasn't bad at all. a lot of people came alone, everyone was there because we love books, and it ended up being such a nice environment.

i left feeling so good and genuinely excited going into a new week. there's just something about sitting outside, reading a good book, and being surrounded by other people who love reading too.

would i go again? maybe! they're doing another one next month, so we'll see lol. but i'm really happy i went. here's their tiktok @readingrhythms so you guys can check them out!
