i don’t know what it is about fall, but every year when september comes around, i feel like something shifts.
maybe it’s because fall feels like the beginning of all the GOOD stuff lol.
september gives you that first little taste of fall. then october is halloween, november is thanksgiving, december is christmas, january is new year’s, and then february comes around with valentine’s day.
like??? for the next six months there’s always SOMETHING coming up π
something to decorate for. something to celebrate. somewhere to go. something cute to do. an excuse to get together with people you love. even just little things like fall movies, pumpkin patches, apple picking, christmas lights, holiday drinks… i love all of it.
it almost feels like a reset to me.
but i also know this time of year doesn’t feel like that for everybody.
the weather starts getting colder. it gets dark earlier. and for some people, this is actually one of the hardest times of the year.
i work around a lot of kids who struggle with their mental health, and i think that has made me think about things like this a little differently.
so while i’m sitting here excited about fall and all the holidays coming up, i also just wanted to leave a little love here for anybody who might be dreading this season instead.
i hope you’re here to see all of it.
i hope this fall is a little softer on you.
i hope you find something to look forward to, even if it’s something small.
and i really hope that maybe this year, the holidays feel a little different. maybe you make a new memory. maybe you start your own tradition. maybe you find something about this season that makes you want to stick around and see what comes next.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and also, i’m a new york girl, and one thing about new york… they are ALWAYS going to find something cute for us to do especially during the fall and holiday season.
so if any of my nyc girlies want me to, let me know!! i can start putting together little lists of cute events and things happening around the city throughout the season. some free, some not, just little reasons to get out of the house and have something to look forward to.
because sometimes having even ONE little thing on your calendar can make a difference. ♡
we still have halloween candy to eat, thanksgiving plates to make, christmas lights to see, a whole new year to meet, and little valentine’s day hearts everywhere after that.
there’s still so much coming. ♡
